Before purchasing any equipment or machinery, Smartwoodsrl advises its customers to perform pelletizing tests with their material, at the company’s premises, for two important reasons:
- Verify that the material is indeed suitable for pelletization.
- Provide the pelletizing machine equipped with the right compression die for the material to be pelletized.
With between 20-40 kg, it is possible to determine whether the product is pelletizeable, and a report is prepared with the main parameters to be considered such as: size, moisture, temperature, density, etc.
It is also possible to carry out an analytical test to determine the characteristics of the pellet by analyzing its composition at external center appointed for this purpose.
Providing a professional and reliable service is our priority, so testing has a cost that is discounted when the machinery is purchased.
A FEW STICKING POINTS
On pellet production
HUMIDITY
In order to be compacted each material Must have its specific degree of moisture. In the case of wood it ranges between 10-14%.
GRANULOMETRY
The material in order to enter the holes of the 6 mm 2 die must have a grain size of no more than 1 cm.
HARDNESS
Woods with different hardnesses behave in different ways during thermo-formation, it is therefore essential to identify the compression Of the optimal drawing die to obtain a quality pellet.
COMPRESSION DIE
Drawing compression is the ratio between the type of material
And the residence time of the material itself in the die hole
- Greater material hardness, lower die compression
- Lower material hardness, higher die compression
HOMOGENEITY
To achieve quality pellets and maximum production efficiency of the pelletizers, it is essential to meet these basic parameters: degree of moisture and homogeneity of the material
